Forum Objectives

  • Provide an overview for Local Government on Influenza Pandemic
  • Provide useful tools for Local Government in planning for an Influenza Pandemic
  • Provide Local Government with the latest information from the DHS on Government's roles and responsibilities in relation to Influenza Pandemic and how these relate to planning needs of your council
  • Assist Local Government with business continuity planning
  • Offer attendees the opportunity to ask questions relating to Pandemic Influenza to expert panel members
  • Provide attendees with practical guidance and information on the planning and preparation for an Influenza Pandemic
  • Exhibit displays of products and services addressing the risks of infectious diseases in the workplace

Overview
The Exercise Day is designed to provide the practical skills required for those personnel who would be responsible for advising management and training staff on the practical measures that are effective in preventing the spread of pandemic influenza and other infectious diseases in the workplace.

The Exercise Day is a research activity of the Australian Homeland Security Research Centre, facilitated by Public Health Mangement on behalf of Homeland Security Communications Group.
